September Recap

September 20th, 2011 by Richard Hancock

Well, we just finished our September meeting a few days ago and wanted to send a thank you to all those who attended. For those who missed, I apologize for getting the invite email out so late.

On to the recap!!!

First Randal Brown, our partner CPA, has been doing some work with his other company over in Branson Creek, hiring people in the call center, putting on golf events, and much more. We also discussed a bit about Living Trusts. Although he doesn’t help with the formation of them, he does help with the accounting for them. Randal also mentioned through personal experience, it saved his family many headaches by already having one formed at the time of a loved ones passing.

If you wish to know more, please contact an attorney that deals with trusts, as well as your CPA and your financial professional to see if it would be a good fit for your situation.

Next, I’d like to welcome back Dexter Coleman. He’s joined us in the past and try’s to make it when he can. We are glad that the reason he can’t always join us is because of how much business he is getting.  Since he’s been gone for so long, we went back over what he offers with his diversity training and human resource services. For dealing with such issues in your business, he is definitely a good resource to utilize to maximize efforts.

Marie Webster joined us again and gave us another update. Things are still going in the right direction and we wish her all the best. And as a testament to what this group was formed for, Marie brought forth some issues and is getting help from those in the group to not only get rid of those issues, but is also getting the help to increase business. She is getting help from two great resources in this group, Randal Brown and Marquis Washington. Randal is helping with making sure Marie’s tax questions get answered correctly and that her previous CPA did things right and Maquis is helping her on her companies website to make it more visible to those searching for her services.

We look forward to seeing the results of both of that so we can keep the good news flowing.

Marquis Washington spent most of his time working with Marie so we didn’t get to hear much about what is going on with his business.

And lastly, I would like to welcome back Johnny and Yolanda Gray. It’s been over a year since last we saw them and boy have they been busy. In the last year, they’ve had massive growth, bought a new, bigger building, even added a new business venture to the mix. And somewhere in that mix managed to find time to get married (Congratulations from all of us)!  And of course with massive growth comes new problems. Communication between employees/contractors. But, with a little help to streamline, that won’t be an issue much longer. We look forward to seeing you both get those additional outlets you are wanting as well as us being a part of helping make that happen.

Please also take some time to fill out our survey at and give us your opinion. In order for us to grow to better serve you, we need you to tell us how best to do that.

We look forward to seeing all of you next month, October 12th for our next meeting. Go ahead and put it on the calendar now so you don’t forget.

Auto Evolve

June 4th, 2011 by Richard Hancock

Auto Evolve, Auto Evolve LLC (the “Company”) was founded in Texas in 2003 with an objective to build a recycling business for End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV’s) which utilizes ecologically-based technology and maximizes the recycling of the vehicles’ components.

Auto Evolve, has the opportunity to develop the first national branded chain of high efficiency, environmentally friendly auto dismantling and recycling plants in the US.  They will introduce into the US market an award-winning green technology developed in Europe which recycles 98% of each vehicle—the highest standard yet achieved in the industry. Instead of sitting in scrap yards, cars, small trucks and SUV’s will be able to be disassembled at a rate of six per hour, two shifts a day per disassembly line.

The Auto Evolve system of recycling will revolutionize the auto recycling sector primarily due to five factors:

Auto Evolve researched appropriate technologies and has entered into negotiations with the European company that developed and patented an ecologically-based auto dismantling and recycling technology being used in Europe.  Auto Evolve intends to set up disassembly/recycling plants, in parallel with developing a series of Company owned and potentially franchised operations throughout the USA.

  1. Recycling yield:  a higher percentage of each vehicle is recycled and recycled components have a higher value
  2. Labor:  labor for processing a vehicle is reduced by approximately 250% compared to existing methods
  3. Land:  land required per vehicle processed annually is reduced by approximately 165% compared to existing facilities
  4. Inventory:  the rapid turnaround of vehicles results in reducing inventory carrying costs compared to existing methods
  5. Environmental:  environmental damage is reduced to almost nothing

To achieve the above, Auto Evolve will be combining patented technology currently used in Europe with management’s strong knowledge of process operations and industrial engineering.  The first plant will be built and the processes designed, optimized and documented to allow for rapid duplication across the country.  When combined, these two factors will dramatically change the economics and environmental impact of this industry.

Funding Opportunity

Auto Evolve is seeking approximately $2.9 million dollars for the establishment of the first two US Auto Evolve recycling plants, comprising of two disassembly lines, its management staff and operations, and the corresponding finance/investment banking fees.  AE will utilize private equity investment, competitive government grants and state technology funds.

Mission: Auto Evolve’s mission is to introduce and market an environmentally-friendly auto dismantling technology to the US auto recycling industry. The use of this technology will not only solve many of the industries ecological issues, but will result in increased profitability for Auto Evolve in its own plants and for others who employ this methodology.

Auto Evolve’s Advantages:

  • Clean Tech , Environmentally -friendly
  • Good Neighbor for the communities AE is of service to.
  • Creates Skilled Jobs with benefits for the community.

Jan 2011 Meeting Notes

January 26th, 2011 by Richard Hancock

For our first meeting of the year, we had a great turnout.  Better than expected even!!  We would like to say thank you to all those that attended. We couldn’t do this without you.

For those that missed it, we answered several questions regarding LLC, C- and S- Corp taxation. Specifically that a single member LLC CAN NOT file as an S-Corp, only multiple member LLC’s are allowed to do that.

Also went over the difference between a Contract and W2 employee. If the employee has regular hours, certain duties to perform throughout the day, etc, for TAX purposes, they are considered an employee.  Even if paid via 1099.  If the employee is just given to work and is allowed to work on it in as they deem necessary, they are considered a contract employee for tax purposes.

All this information and much more related to taxes will be address in our February meeting.

We were also pleased to have the fine folks over at Credit Help USA over to join us again. We welcome their new employees with open arms and look forward to many more years working with them for all credit related questions and issues.

And I would be remise in my duties if I failed to mention our special guests, D.E.A.F. I want to bring special attention to them for what they do. They specialize in assisting and empowering the D/deaf entrepreneurs to be independent and successful thriving business owners.

We also would like to thank The Oasis Restaurant for their continued support for allow us to use their preemies for our meetings and excellent food.
